What is
the BBA?
The
Bellingham Business Association (BBA) is a nonpolitical, nonsectarian,
nonprofit organization, comprised of business owners and self-employed
individuals situated in and around the
town of Bellingham.
Through the foresight of a new concerned business people, the BBA was
founded in 1981 to promote and build a better community through business.
Our membership consists of a wide variety of business, both large and small,
including retailers, wholesalers, consultants, contractors, restaurants, as
well as a variety of professionals from the legal, accounting, publishing,
medical, computer and other fields.
Mission Statement
Our
mission is to improve business conditions, promote higher business
standards, and provide a better understanding of issues and problems which
affect the business community, as well as to promote civic, cultural,
economic and social betterment to the residents of the town of Bellingham.
What does the BBA do?
The BBA is proud to sponsor many activities and programs such
programs such as two annual $1000.00
scholarships and a Citizenship Award for outstanding service to the
community. We also make financial contributions to many worthwhile causes
and events such as Bellingham Friends of Music, Santa's Elves, Local Food Pantry and Concerts on the Grass.
Why should I join the BBA?
As a
member of the BBA you can get involved and help in achieving the goals
described above; you can attend monthly dinner meetings and enjoy a variety
of guest speakers, as well as networking with other business owners; you can
take advantage of free advertising in the monthly newsletter (space
allocated in a first come-first serve basis); and as a current member, you
receive a free listing in the Membership Directory. (Additional ad
space is available at a nominal fee to help defray printing costs.)
